Abilene is known as the Key City. Playing little league base ball at Cal Youg Park I didn’t understand the meaning of the Key City. Today I understand Abilene is the key city because it is the hub to West Texas. If Dallas and Ft Worth is one of the 4 biggest hubs in the United States Abilene is The Hub to West Texas.
Today we use fossel fuels to transport products on the highways. Most of the products we buy are maufactured in other countries. Thoes products arrive in Texas by large cargo ships in the Gulf.
